More Stories

I intend to put links to additional story material from the Library Ship Saga on this page. In general, I will note whether the material contains spoilers, but in this case of "Road Trip" and "Stephanie," there really aren't any. In "Road Trip," a major character, John Shuford, takes one last trip with his father before boarding the Seeker and going to Tau Ceti. The story does provide background information about Earth at the time of the trilogy. In "Stephanie," the incident described is referred to in "Tau Ceti: A Ship From Earth." Reading that novel first may make this material in both these stories clearer, but I think they stand alone fairly well. I hope you enjoy them.

John Shuford is about to board a starship for a sixteen-year voyage to another planet. But first he must say goodbye to his father.

John knew his life would change on this new planet. Not all the changes were expected.

For fans of those intrepid explorers, Jack, Diego, and Russell, here's a section that was deleted from "Tau Ceti: A Ship from Earth." It does constitute a mild spoiler, so it would probably be best if you read "A Ship from Earth" before reading this.

Some Tau Ceti fans have commented on the treatment of foods, especially in the first book, where colonists are limited by the crops they can grow and have imported from Earth. For those fans, I present the official recipe for Pitcairn chili. Remember that Pitcairners have developed a taste for spicy food, however, so try the original recipe at your own risk.

This story has nothing to do with the Library Ship Saga but gives a different view of artificial intelligence than in the saga.

Now for something completely different. Probably not for children.
